Build CXTERM (5.2.3) on OpenServer 6 =========================================================================== CXTERM Project on Sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/projects/cxterm Download URL : http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cxterm/cxterm-5.2.3.tgz?download $PATH: /usr/local/bin:/usr/X/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/ccs/bin: /usr/X11R6/bin:. What I have done : 0) gunzip -c cxterm-5.2.3.tar.gz | tar -xvf - 1) cd cxterm-5.2.3 , and do a "./configure --prefix=/usr/local" 2) edit cxterm/Makefile Original : CFLAGS = -g LIBS = -L/usr/X11R6.1/lib -lXaw -lXt -lXmu -lSM -lICE -lncurses -lXext -lX11 -lXpm -lm New : CFLAGS = -g -D_EFTSAFE LIBS = -L/usr/X11R6.1/lib -lXaw -lXt -lXmu -lSM -lICE -lcurses -lXext -lX11 -lm -lsocket 3) edit cxterm/main.c, and add these two lines : #define SYSV #define SVR4 3) edit utils/Makefile, and change "gcc" to "cc" (total 4 lines), and change the LIBS variable : Original: LIBS = -L/usr/X11R6.1/lib -lXaw -lXt -lXmu -lSM -lICE -lncurses -lXext -lX11 -lXpm -lm New : LIBS = -L/usr/X11R6.1/lib -lXaw -lXt -lXmu -lSM -lICE -lcurses -lXext -lX11 -lm 4) edit utils/hzimctrl.c, and add this line : #define SYSV 5) under cxterm-5.2.3/ directory, do a "make" 6) make install 7) I don't know why, but the install-sh script can't copy all *.cit files (this is the input methods for each languages) to /usr/local/share/cxterm/dict/* , therefour, I do it by myself : cd dict cp big5/*.cit /usr/local/share/cxterm/dict/big5 cp gb/*.cit /usr/local/share/cxterm/dict/gb cp jis/*.cit /usr/local/share/cxterm/dict/jis cp ks/*.cit /usr/local/share/cxterm/dict/ks 6) install the fonts which are provided with CXTERM packages. cd cxterm-5.2.3 make install-fonts (again, this can't work for all fonts. I do it again by myself.) cd fonts cp *.pcf.gz /usr/local/share/cxterm/fonts cp fonts.alias /usr/local/share/cxterm/fonts cp fonts.dir /usr/local/share/cxterm/fonts 7) edit /usr/local/share/cxterm/cxtermrc , and add these lines for BIG5 locale. Actually, from cxtermrc files, it's supposed all cxterm* should work, but without any reason, it just doesn't work. So, for better ANSI-color support, I add these lines : cxtermb5*fcolor0: #000000 cxtermb5*fcolor1: #8b0000 cxtermb5*fcolor2: #006400 cxtermb5*fcolor3: #cdcd00 cxtermb5*fcolor4: #00008b cxtermb5*fcolor5: #cd00cd cxtermb5*fcolor6: #008b8b cxtermb5*fcolor7: #d3d3d3 cxtermb5*fcolorh0: #a9a9a9 cxtermb5*fcolorh1: #ff0000 cxtermb5*fcolorh2: #00ff00 cxtermb5*fcolorh3: #ffff00 cxtermb5*fcolorh4: #0000ff cxtermb5*fcolorh5: #ff00ff cxtermb5*fcolorh6: #00ffff cxtermb5*fcolorh7: #ffffff =============================================================== How to start CXTERM ? I am using BIG5 locale here, and the CXTERM with big5 support can be launched by : # cxterm -b5
